Sunday, Funny Sunday

Under the sea! (of red hair)
Sunday, instead of a training day, became brunch day, so the note will be short.  Brunch with my mom was pretty fun, although my dad was missed (Er ist in Deutschland!). Turns out my mom will not only be cheering for me, but she'll be training with me during the week.

I am ashamed to say that, unlike me, my mother has ran marathons before. Furthermore, my 80+ year old grandmother runs marathons. Yup, you read right. The only time I tried running with both of them, I ended up so far behind that I couldn't see them. Now, that was embarrassing!

After brunch I got to catch up with Joelle's progress, and I discovered that she turned into a mermaid!- which is a much better option than turning into Lil' Kim. The wardrobe alone could provoke a few heart attacks in the chemotherapy center. She's there to kick ass, not shake it.

With the Gadget of Terror
She is also sporting a little gadget on her chest that makes my bones hurt from looking at it. It's little things like those that keep confirming how strong this woman really is. I got my wisdom teeth pulled recently and thought the stitches were the end of me, and look at her. Calm, focused, and resilient. It's quite the humbling experience.

Lesson of the week: When times get rough, we get to appreciate our real strength.

Gute Nacht allerseits!
B
