Monday Night Raw

T-Day #7 was intense, as in sensory overload type of intense. I went for a run with my mom (my new running buddy), and instead of going to my usual track, we went to the one that is by my parents place (they live in the 'burbs).

As suspected, the place was PACKED. Instead of feeling like a jungle, it felt like a zoo. There is the track, and in the space inside there's a soccer field. On the far side of it, a small baseball field (for tiny tots with gloves bigger than their faces), and a small shelter, with two tennis courts and two volleyball courts opposite of it. The area was packed with kids practicing different sports, and with the parents waiting by the bleachers.

Y'all can imagine the plethora of sounds that were concentrated in that area. Also, I forgot to bring my phone's running holster or my headphones. To add to the sensory experience, since it rains every day, it was humid as heck, and the designated trash area was delighting the present athletes with scents from another world. Like Hades' Kerberos' kennel to be more precise.

During my circuit run, I got to work on improving my running: walking ratio. Since I [also] left my wristwatch , I did two runs around the track for each time I went around speed-walking.  It was weird to go by the stands with the group of parents chatting, possibly judging my workout (but, who cares?!) as I went by each time. I was honestly hoping that my pants were not inappropriately tucked in any weird place that would provoke nightmares to the children around me.

To make matters more interesting, I left my running socks, and had to wear a pair of funky print socks. I tried tucking in the upper side, but at some point when the running got intense, one of them ran up and some runners got to appreciate the flying toaster design around my ankle.

I finished a whopping total of one and a half mile, before my left foot started bothering be a bit. Once I got home, I discovered that my feet were punishing me for using the wrong socks. I got my first sore spot on my left foot's inner big toe mound (not bunion, mind you!).

I need to remember to stretch after I'm done running, since "walking it off" is not enough. We'll see how it goes tomorrow. I mean, Mondays are meant to be a hot mess, right? ;)

PS: Enjoy.
